Django recipe manager web application
We are looking for a person to develop an application for the management of kitchen recipes and product inventory.
We need a Django-based web application which will run locally. The idea is that the application can be used as a desktop application using some technology like Electron, but this is outside the scope of this possition. The persistence will be done on the machine where the application is installed. No frontend development required. Instead we need to implement a REST API with a series of endpoints to communicate the data that the application will store. These endpoints and features will be detailed later when we start development, but the main features will be listed below:
- Basic CRUD on data via REST API.
- Importing and exporting data from CSV, XLSX files.
- Doing simple maths operations between data (i.e: calculate a budget of a recipe based on its ingredients).
- Image fields will be needed in some models.
Candidate requirements:
- Experience developing applications with Python and Django
- Experience implementing REST APIs with Django REST Framework
- Experience performing unit tests
- Using git as a version control system
BONUS:
- Fluid communication with the rest of the team members will be highly valued.
- Python best practices will be given importance.
It will help us a lot if the candidate can show any previous work or portfolio.
