Objective:
Create a Shopify app that will give e-commerce websites running on Shopify the ability to display to their customers information like the date their order will be delivered or location-based marketing based on their geographic location.
The app will identify the customer's location and show an estimate on the product page of when it will be delivered. The estimated ship date will be based on the merchant's warehouse(s) and customers' geolocation. The app will feature a count-down timer and the ability to change the location by inputting another zip code manually.
While many Shopify apps offer delivery estimates and countdown timers, there isn't an app yet that offers one that works based on the customers and the stores' real location. (A few apps offer by country, but this is useless for non-international sellers or if the destination country like the USA.) Nevertheless, we will need to provide the other delivery estimate apps' basic functions to give no other reason a merchant should not choose us.
The app will be launched as a freemium model that will allow merchants to download a free version that will only have the countdown timer and incentivize them to upgrade to get features such as estimated ship dates by location with a free 7-day trial. Our main target demographic will be sellers that have multiple warehouses, sellers that have a storefront as well as drop shippers. For other Shopify sellers we can target those who wish to do location based marketing.
