The database of verdicts of the High Anti-Corruption Court (HACC) was created by the All-Ukrainian Association "Automaidan".
This site was created using languages such as: HTML (PUG), CSS (SCSS), JS (Jquery), as well as the BEM methodology and the Gulp preprocessor were used.
This site is for convenient search, analysis, and research of verdicts in cases of high-level corruption in Ukraine.
The database contains all the verdicts of the High Anti-Corruption Court (HACC) published since the beginning of its work. New verdicts are added to the database every month. Also, in a separate section of the site, there are verdicts in top corruption cases issued by other courts in cases investigated by detectives of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine.
WHY DID WE CREATE THIS DATABASE?
After the victory of the Revolution of Dignity, Ukraine carried out a series of very important reforms in the anti-corruption sphere. Among other things, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office were established. The focus of the work of these bodies is the most resonant cases of bribery, embezzlement of state funds, abuses by officials, and so on. However, the first years of their work demonstrated the inability of the existing judicial system at that time to consider cases qualitatively and quickly with the necessary level of trust in the decisions made.
Therefore, Ukraine decided to establish a specialized High Anti-Corruption Court, which started its work in September 2019. With each passing year, the number of HACC verdicts increases. However, a service has not yet been created where information about such verdicts and a brief description of the essence of the cases could be read in an accessible and convenient form.
At the same time, the Law of Ukraine "On Access to Court Decisions" grants everyone the right to access court decisions, as well as the right to reproduce court decisions in any way, including through the creation of electronic databases.
