NodeJS to Ruby API integration change

A few words about the project below:

Wordapp.com was established in 2015 with offices in Amsterdam, Istanbul and Stockholm we help SEO teams to remotely scale content writing, the building of WordPress sites and other freelance tasks in 17+ markets.

We’re experts at building, maintaining and monetizing:

- Brand Protection Sites
- Affiliate Sites
- Lead Generation Sites

At the core of the Wordapp platform are our task feed, workflow and website manager.

Our task feed distributes tasks to over 25,000 freelancers in 17+ countries, from Sweden to Japan. Based on language, location, profile information and personal preferences we can produce all kinds of tasks fast.

Because of the workflow that is set for each task, we can automatically run plagiarism scans, fraud detection, assign proofreaders or publish directly to API connections or our WordPress plugin. All saving you time and reducing mistakes.

The website manager makes it easy to keep track of large website networks including analytics data, updates, content frequency, etc.

Specification Task #1

In our task feed, we show survey tasks from a company called Cint. These tasks are automatically created through the Cint API  and nobody is managing any day-to-day here.

By the end of March Cint is stopping support for this API and moving to a brand new API with a lot of improvements. Instead of ‘upgrading’ the API you will need to completely rewrite the integration. Documentation for the new API: https://yoursurveys.readme.io/docs/welcome

The current integration is in NodeJS but we want to change it completely to Ruby. The NodeJS code has all the functionality that we want to have in the new version as well though. For front-end, all is in Angular JS. We have a developer who can do changes there. NBK repository can go and should just be integrated within the core repository.

Primary functions:
Registration user in the panel by them completing their Wordapp user profile
Showing the appropriate survey tasks in the task feed when the user loads the task feed
“Blocking” the money on the business account so that Cint can pay for it
Synching back the transactions to the freelancer’s balance (pay them or not depending on the status)
Synching back the final transaction tot the business account (withdraw the money from their balance or release it from the ‘pending’ status)

From the ‘old’ to the ‘new’ API there are tons of changes. As a developer, you can take ad hoc decisions on what is best and/or sync with Jorn. Most importantly:

Users are not ‘registered’ in 1 panel anymore but registered as general users. Which means there are no separated end pages etc.
