Waverley Software is looking for a Senior iOS Engineer to work full time on an exciting long-term project.

About Our Client:

Our client is a company which offers the community of it’s members the chance to win free books from publishers and authors even before they’ve been released elsewhere, win the favorite author’s next novel, discover new authors, or explore new genres. Members can request free review copies of any available books, winners are picked randomly and notified via email. Once user has finished reading, s/he shares a feedback about the book via a rating, recommendation, and/or review.

 Project Description:

The idea of the application is to allow the community members to explore all things books in two different ways. On the app, readers can scout out their next read, share photos of book-minded things, and join a wide network of book clubs covering everything from Thai poetry to feminist sci-fi. On the website, users can read up on news, articles and essays on the newest book trends, view entertaining videos and podcasts, and exchange recommendations with others.
The Client’s company takes a look at literature, comics, poetry and publishing with a playful, examining eye in order to get good books off the shelves and into user’s hands.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Help to successfully release the existing iOS app and continue working on the next development phases;
• Implement functional requirements while providing scalability, performance, and maintainability;
• Be able to discuss new features with the client and develop them;
• Work as a part of distributed Scrum team to provide the increment of the product at the end of the Sprint;
• Implementation app architecture basing on the features list;

 Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Bachelor degree in Computer Science (or equivalent);
• 5+ years of commercial software development;
• Ability to to manage yourself and support the product on one’s own;
• Good knowledge of Objective C and Swift;
• Strong understanding of OOP and design patterns;
• Working knowledge of iOS SDK, XCode, Cocoa Touch, UIKit, push notifications;
• Have a taste in graphic design: e.g. to be able to adjust a button;
•  Successfully completed products published at AppStore;
• Good level of written and spoken English;
