Goal
With our website we want to offer a platform to visitors to find a suitable holiday accommodation in combination with activities in an intuitive and fast way. The emphasis here is on holiday accommodation in combination with activities such as horseback riding or climbing. For example, where in Portugal can you best if you want to go horseback riding for a few days? What holiday accommodations are there and what do you need to know in advance about the activity before you go. Our platform should ensure that a visitor doesn’t have to search online for a long time to find the right activity or accommodation in a certain region.
Advertisements
We want to offer holiday accommodations through advertisements on the website, for which the advertisers pay us an annual amount. If an advertiser wants to offer more holiday accommodations, there will be a discount on the rate. We also want to offer activities through advertisement on the website, although the focus at the start will be on getting advertisers for holiday accommodations. We will also add activities ourselves (in consultation with advertisers) so that we are not dependent on advertisers of activities (although there will be less information compared with advertised activities).
Via the website it should be easy to find a suitable holiday accommodation in combination with an activity. That is why it is important for us that visitors can find the availability of a holiday accommodation (the advertiser should be able to edit the dates on which the accommodation is available) and what the price is for certain days/ periods. We find this essential for the use of the website, as we expect visitors to search specifically (in terms of date and price range) and showing accommodations that fall outside the criteria discourage the use of the website. However, it is not our intention to let the visitor also book through our website. If a suitable accommodation has been selected, it is the intention that the visitor can contact the advertiser to book via various ways (e-mail or a link to another website).
Finding a suitable accommodation
We want the visitor to easily search on date, price, destination and type of activity, so they will get the right results rightaway. The results should then show the holiday accommodations with the selected type of activity in the area. It should be possible to register several activities in the area for one accommodation. We would also like to make this visual via a map. We would therefore like the option to show both holiday accommodation and activities on the map. If a visitor opens the page of a holiday accommodation, the activities around the accommodation should be visible as well. On these activities we want to make it possible to click to the activity itself, where there will be more information about the activity.
Core functionalities
- Advertisers must be able to create an account and be able to place holiday accommodations and / or activities themselves
- Placing an advertisement must go through an annual subscription (via Ideal) where there is a discount on the rate for the 2nd placement (5%) and 3rd placement or more (10%)
- Visitors must be able to search by date, price and destination (at least on country) and advertisers must be able to place the availability and price indication (since prices will change per period) themselves
- Visitors must be able to be redirected via our website to the advertiser (website or e-mail) where they can carry out the actual booking
- The activities must be linked to a holiday accommodation (or several), so that the visitor can search on a type of activity
- The holiday accommodations and activities must be visible on a map (whereby it must be possible to view the linked activities at a holiday residence)
