AI animation for Sheptytsky Hospital: A socially significant project
Creating an emotional and narrative animation video for the charity organization "Sheptytsky Hospital." The goal of the video is to tell the story of over 120 years of care and present modern service packages for elderly care.
My Role and Team Interaction
In this large-scale project, I was responsible for creating the entire visual array and integrating subtitles. The work was carried out in close collaboration with a professional team, which included a separate director, a sound design team, and the animation studio "Vusiki."
This project became a great example of successful teamwork, where my task was to bring the director's vision and script to life using advanced AI tools, creating a coherent and emotionally rich visual world.
Key Challenges and My Solutions
The project required not only a creative approach but also solving a number of complex technical tasks:
Recreating a Historical Figure: One of the most challenging tasks was creating the image of the chief physician based on an old archival photograph. With the help of AI generation and prompt engineering techniques, it was possible not only to recreate the appearance but also to convey the character and integrate the character into the animation story.
Working with Edits and Iterations: The project went through a significant number of iterations and edits from the client. My flexibility and ability to quickly adapt the visual array allowed me to accommodate all requests, particularly regarding the precise integration of medical equipment and adherence to the specifics of locations.
Stylistic Unity: I developed and maintained a unified visual style (in the spirit of Pixar studio) that combined historical scenes, modern interiors, and emotional portraits of characters, creating a cohesive and touching story.
Technical Pipeline:
AI Generation (Midjourney): Creating keyframes, character development, environments, historical exteriors, and medical equipment.
AI Animation (Runway ML / Pika Labs): "Bringing to life" generated scenes, creating camera and character movement.
Compositing and Subtitles (Adobe After Effects): Merging all visual elements into a single composition, adding animated subtitles, and final image processing.
Outcome and Experience
The result of our joint work was an emotionally resonant and informative product that effectively conveys the values and services of the Hospital to the target audience.
For me, this project became a great practice of working in a large team on a socially important task, as well as a confirmation that AI tools in the hands of an experienced specialist allow solving the most complex creative and technical challenges.
