Goal: Cleaning the backlink profile of a large commercial project from targeted SEO negativity (spam links, automatically generated doorway pages), blocking harmful source sites, and restoring positions in Google. What has been done within the project: Audit and extraction of links: A complete database of backlinks was compiled using Ahrefs and Google Search Console. Over 1500 toxic donor domains were identified. Automated grouping: A Python script was written for mass retrieval of Whois, DNS, and IP addresses of harmful sites. This allowed for the grouping of 1500 domains into just 45 major hosting providers and registrars (Cloudflare, Namecheap, Hetzner, etc.). Working with Abuse departments: Legally justified complaints (Abuse requests) were drafted in English with evidence of harmful activity (spam, DMCA violations). Mass tickets were sent to providers. Result of communication: Over 75% of toxic sites were physically blocked by hosts or registrars within the first 2 weeks. Monitoring and Google Disavow: The remaining links were preserved through the Disavow Tool. Weekly automated monitoring of the availability of blocked domains was set up to detect recurrences.
