Introduction to the DropShipping Business Model

Dropshipping is a business model in which the broker who is trading does not need to store goods in his warehouse.All he needs is to have an online store and set sales on it.After receipt of the order, the broker transfers the data to the wholesale supplier and the delivery of goods to the final customer is made directly by the wholesale supplier.After the transaction, the broker receives his profits in the form of a sale commission.The dropshipping model is illustrated on the scheme above.As part of one of the projects we have developed a platform-aggregator, where wholesale suppliers offer their goods.Later, we created an online store to which categories and goods are automatically loaded from the aggregator site.For dropshippers, a web store was developed on CMS Opencart 3.0. Filling the online store with categories and products occurs through the automatic xml file import system.The system requests the link file over a certain period of time.After that, the information about the goods is updated and new or hidden positions are added.To automatize the full cycle of dropshipping, it is not only necessary to import goods, it is also necessary to organize the export of orders from the online store to the aggregator platform.For this purpose, we have developed the generation of files with the content of the online store orders, the transfer and conversion of these data back to orders on the platform.In conjunction with the information on the goods, the addresses and contact details of the recipients are transmitted necessary for shipping.
