Life Trace
Life Trace is a unique service that helps people collect, store, and share memories of their loved ones. On the platform, you can create a page about a close or famous person, where you can upload photos, create videos, add information about the person, comments from various users, and many other features.
Tasks
Goal: Develop a new design for the platform, perform a redesign, and develop new functionality for the service.
Process
- Conducted a thorough analysis of the existing website and its features, gathered client wishes and requirements, and identified main problems.
- Defined the main goals of the redesign: rebranding the company, improving user experience, and increasing user engagement.
- Developed a redesign strategy and functional changes, identified new capabilities, analyzed the website code, and tested the correctness of the functions.
- Created a new visual concept and design focusing on ease of navigation and emotional connection with users, created layouts for main pages.
- Implemented the design layout using React js and SASS, integrated the swiper library for photo and video display, and developed a backend in PHP for feedback.
- Added new personal account pages, expanded photo and video upload capabilities, refined the commenting feature, and fixed platform bugs.
- Conducted testing of the new functionality and design on various devices and browsers, checked compliance with security requirements.
Audience
Most users before the redesign were middle-aged and elderly people, mostly from Europe, who post information about loved ones who have passed away. After the redesign, we additionally attract youth to create profiles of prominent, interesting, and other notable individuals.
Results
A new design and new functionality were developed for the Life Trace platform. Using React js, SASS, and the swiper library, a convenient and emotionally rich interface was implemented for collecting and sharing memories of loved ones. The redesign helped improve user experience and attract new users.
