Starting with the hunting pleasures of the inuites and ending with the holy mountain monasteries, the latest objects have been officially recognized as the UNESCO World Heritage Site for their outstanding value. The purpose of this list of places is to identify, protect and preserve objects of cultural and natural heritage that are considered exclusively valuable for mankind. These places include a number of unique objects, such as the Great Barrier Reef in Australia, the Pyramids of Egypt and Machu Picchu in Peru. In order to enter this list, the nominated objects must have a “exhibiting universal value” and meet at least one of the ten selection criteria. The 10 new UNESCO World Heritage sites are presented, and it is also explained why they were included here.
