The program for the development of the Ministry of Social Security and Labor of the Republic of Lithuania has been implemented, regarding the development of an environment suitable for people with disabilities in all areas of life.
Ensuring the accessibility of physical infrastructure for the disabled
Creation of a mechanism for monitoring and controlling the accessibility of structures. As part of this activity, an information technology tool was created to monitor the accessibility of buildings for people with disabilities.
With the help of this tool, people with disabilities can obtain accurate information about whether a particular building meets the needs of people with disabilities.
A specially designed map contains information about the accessibility of buildings where various services are provided.
Information about the adaptation of the building is presented according to different types of disabilities: visual, auditory, physical, and cognitive limitations.
The accessibility of buildings is assessed according to specially selected accessibility criteria.
The owner of a public building must fill out a special questionnaire in the system, evaluating the accessibility of this building for people with disabilities according to certain criteria.
On the website, one can report a building that does not meet accessibility requirements by filling out a special notification form.
The information collected using this tool will be used to analyze the accessibility of buildings for people with disabilities and to plan investments in buildings.
