House of Support
The supported living house “House of Faith, Hope, and Love” is a new home for Ulyana Belei, Igor Chovpil, and Yana Khazanyuk – three young people, older orphans with disabilities, who previously lived in social orphanages and since July 2019 have been residing in a small town of Obertin in Ivano-Frankivsk region. This is the first supported living house in Ukraine, which initially received some funding from local authorities for the primary expenses, but with each subsequent year, government support began to decrease, and by 2022, the House did not receive any budget funds. Currently, the House exists only thanks to the help of benefactors and is at risk of closure.
One effective way to preserve the House is to attract benefactors through subscriptions to small monthly donations, which we call volunteer-guardians. To expand the group of volunteer-guardians (planned to reach 1000 or more), we plan to hold a challenge called “I Never Had a Refrigerator...”. The name of the challenge is quite unconventional, but it reflects the realities of the residents’ lives, as all of them previously (when living in orphanages) never had a refrigerator or many other everyday amenities common to most people. Participants in the challenge will be offered, among other things, to subscribe to periodic donations for the House, receive a magnet, attach it to their refrigerator, take and publish a photo (with or without frames), pass the baton to friends, inviting them to participate in the challenge.
Tasks for the designer
Development of a set of graphic elements for the challenge, executed in a unified style, namely:
1. Frames for overlaying on photos and videos, which will be used by the Organization for publications on social networks Facebook, TikTok, Instagram, Telegram and will include:
- stylistically designed texts “No to the closure of the House!”, “I Never Had a Refrigerator...”;
- the hashtag #HouseChallenge;
- 2 versions of the text: 1) with the inscription “We are 70, goal 1000”, where the first number (70) can be changed; 2) with the inscription “Looking for volunteers”.
2. Frames for overlaying on photos and videos, available for users for publications on social networks Facebook, TikTok, Instagram, Telegram and will include:
- stylistically designed texts “No to the closure of the House!”, “I Never Had a Refrigerator...”;
- the hashtag #HouseChallenge;
3. A small magnet (for refrigerator attachment), which will include:
- stylized photo of the residents (all or some of them – at the discretion of the designer);
- the text “I Never Had a Refrigerator...”;
- the hashtag #HouseChallenge;
- the text “Level 1”.
For clarity, it is advisable to provide examples of how the frames can be used together with photos from the House. Designers may, at their own initiative, deviate from the details specified in the technical assignment, suggesting any changes.
