The email marketing campaign has been completed. Full reporting for each email has been provided to the client. Thank you for your cooperation.

Ivan made a call, showed several files to have a chance to evaluate the project a bit. The task seemed clear - 500 files that needed to be copied, translated into Ukrainian, and added. Based on what I saw, I estimated the project and the deadlines. I estimated it at 40 hours (5 minutes per file considering the Ukrainian version) and agreed on the budget.

After that, Ivan gave me the manager's contacts, who provided me access to the files themselves, and to whom I reported on the work results.

Starting the work, it turned out that the files contained numerous images (from 0 to 70 images), which needed to be copied individually. Simply copying the entire file was impossible because the images were not loading.

The next surprise was that during the call, I only saw small files, and during the work, I already saw huge files that took a lot of time. Huge step-by-step instructions with 30-40 images and text.

As a result, instead of 40 hours, I spent 80... I wrote to the manager about this. I asked to review the budget after completing the work. Since I felt guilty for initially estimating the project incorrectly, I promised to complete it anyway, but hoped for understanding, as without access, I could not review all the files and evaluate the budget. I did not ask for double the planned budget. I just asked to meet halfway and find a compromise to somehow reduce the loss of my time.

My request was ignored, despite the manager agreeing that copying one image at a time takes a long time, and that the files are indeed very large, and he understands that there were more files than they told me (532). He promised to talk to Ivan, but in the end, a day later, they just closed the project on the freelance platform and that was it.

People do not appreciate others' time. They want cheap and quality work. If you agree to a project, make sure you have covered all aspects, considered and estimated everything correctly! It is solely your responsibility.

This is not negative, just an honest review of the cooperation specifically on this project. If we have to work together again - I will be glad! However, I will carefully assess the time and budget to avoid what happened this time.

P.S. I didn't communicate with Ivan that much, but I talked to the manager every day. Everything was clear, we found a common ground. However, after completing the work, I started to be ignored, which clearly indicated to me that we had finished the job, and I received payment.

It was pleasant to collaborate with Ivan - always on contact, clear TZ, go to a meeting in case of anything, no problems with the payment 🙂

Very good project, because: clear TZ, understanding of "what you need", timely and fast payment, has a little right (what I always like). It is pleasant that Ivan appreciates the designer and it is noticed in the message, and in the position. The customer does not realize what he wants. He worked with a team of designers, developers, artists. One man will find 10,000 spots. The logic is absent from the word. It is a complete and unconditional waste of time, strength, and money. This is the apogee of all the worst options that can be between the customer and the executive. The customer was delivered sketches on the first day, in three options, the answer waited a long time, after which the customer chose one of the favourite options of sketches. Then they worked in the color, provided the intermediate version of art, no feedback was received. If you need stress, loss of a normal psychological state, then Goodbye!
