I work a lot with AI, and this was a typical automation project for me involving requests to the OpenAI API. Although there were some specifics — the structure and formatting of the original text must be preserved 100% in the translations. Even before agreeing on the terms, the client mentioned in one of the points that they would not accept the work result if the script did not translate absolutely into all specified languages (51) without errors during the test. However, in response to my remark that I cannot guarantee the quality and completeness of the AI's response, and that this cannot be a reason for refusing payment for the completed work, they agreed. I took this as a resolved issue. Ultimately, 5-6 languages turned out to be problematic, and the AI either produces less text or adds garbage to the response (not always; some attempts yield normal results). Unpleasant communication and arm-twisting began. From my side, I did everything possible — I selected the best LLM and adjusted the settings, added functionality for assessing the completeness of the translation, a simple mechanism for regenerating rejected responses, batch processing in the background, and the ability to process the table in parallel without conflicts (manual launch, in the background, when one batch has not yet finished working, but the timer has already started a new one) — to minimize the risk of the script stopping and to deliver the project. All of this significantly increased the workload while the client was unwilling to review the budget. Of course, I am not satisfied with such cooperation. I am evaluating it with a delay, when the emotions have calmed down.
