BETWEEN SUPPORT AND RESTRICTIONS: STRATEGIC DILEMMAS OF UKRAINIAN P
Articles & Blog PostsWhy has the administration of J. Biden provided assistance to Ukraine so slowly and inconsistently since the beginning of the war? We argue that such inconsistency has been defined by a number of contradictions, or dilemmas, among which, in addition to the dominance of the "Moscow factor" – the prioritization of the Russian Federation among other post-Soviet countries, were the advocacy of democratic values and the prevention of nuclear confrontation with the Russian Federation, support for Ukraine's sovereignty, and the prevention of a defeat for the Russian Federation in the war.

THE IMPACT OF RUSSIAN DISINFORMATION ON PUBLIC OPINION IN THE USA
Articles & Blog PostsThe article analyzes the impact of Russian disinformation on public opinion in the United States regarding support for Ukraine in the context of the Russian-Ukrainian war. It examines key aspects that determine the American public's perception of the necessity for military and financial assistance to Ukraine. Special attention is given to the evolution of public sentiments in the U.S., which have undergone significant changes under the influence of disinformation campaigns aimed at undermining trust in official messages and U.S. international commitments. The results of sociological surveys demonstrate that the number of Americans who consider assistance to Ukraine excessive is increasing. Based on an analysis of Gallup data, it traces how Russian disinformation influences the formation of perceptions about the war, using narratives about economically disadvantageous support for Ukraine for American taxpayers and allegedly provocative actions by the U.S. towards Russia. These narratives are amplified in the media space, especially through social networks and alternative media, creating a favorable environment for the formation of polarized views. It also examines key mechanisms of disinformation dissemination, among which manipulative news, fake reports, and distortion of real events dominate. Particular emphasis is placed on the strategic use of emotional influence to create negative associations regarding Ukraine. It is noted that Russian disinformation is aimed at undermining trust in the U.S. administration, its foreign policy, and international security initiatives. The impact of public sentiments on U.S. political decisions regarding Ukraine is discussed. It demonstrates how the spread of skepticism among Americans regarding the continuation of financial support for Kyiv affects the strategic approaches of the Joseph Biden administration. At the same time, the work emphasizes the importance of countering disinformation campaigns to ensure sustained support for Ukraine from the U.S. The results of this research provide tools for a deeper understanding of the dynamics of disinformation's influence on public opinion and decision-making in the U.S., as well as highlighting the challenges faced by Ukraine in its struggle for international support.
