    About Project

    The client’s request included a redesign of the existing site to increase conversions, reorganizing the content structure and navigation to obtain a better user experience. The preparatory phase of the work included a thorough and detailed collection of data about the client’s business and key issues identified on their old site. This was done using Hotjar analysis and QA testing of his old site. In addition a study of the client’s business niche and main competitors was performed based on a detailed brief filled out by the client.

    The site’s performance was very low.
    The site design was outdated and looked “old-fashioned” against the competitors.
    The site had problems with the navigation (it was very confusing) and the filtering logic.
    Fitment functionality worked poorly (most competitors use such functionality on their sites).
    There were a lot of bugs and problems with the code.
    Problems with the form of content submission.

    - a more versatile platform, easier to support;
    - template, with more features to implement out of the box;
    - integration with our key wholesaler to link products to their site from their backend.

    In addition to the outdated design on the old site, other critical issues were identified that were crucial in creating a new site on the Shopify platform:
    - the search by year, make, and model of car on the old site did not work correctly, which caused a lot of inconvenience to potential customers;
    - the absence of any filters and sorting.

    The main reason why the client approached us was to switch from the ZenCart platform to Shopify. This included migrating all products and setting up automatic collections, migrating user data, and product reviews.

    Also, the client’s request was to implement the existing design into the new store on Shopify while making it responsive and adaptive. At the same time, it was not desirable to change the existing concept, as no rebranding was envisioned, only migration from ZenCart to Shopify.

    About the Project
    We are proud to have worked on this project, as it involved implementing a wide range of unique features and presented a meaningful technical challenge. In addition to the features listed above, one of the key complexities was developing a completely new theme with a different structure based on the provided site reference. The client’s main goal was to achieve a similar look and feel while making the site more modern and fresh.

    A major challenge was reworking a significant part of the backend logic to align with the new product card structure and behavior. While it initially seemed straightforward, there were many important details to consider. For example, each product color exists as a separate product in the admin panel (for marketing purposes). On the frontend, we combined these into a single product and implemented a quick-buy feature with the ability to preview different color options.
