    I invite you to the Vienna Prater - the oldest permanent amusement park in Europe. I visited it on a special day - May 1st. Viennese people, after the traditional Labor Day parade, flock to the big festival at the Prater. There is an atmosphere of a joyful picnic, and a band is playing on stage. The smell of grilled sausages wafts around, as it is a culinary symbol and delicacy of Vienna. People on a diet buy lagos - large garlic pancakes fried in deep fat. Apparently, they are more diet-friendly than sausages :).

    The most famous attraction of the Prater is the Riesenrad, or the Ferris wheel, from 1897. It weighs only 430 tons and is 65 meters high. It is a masterpiece of 19th-century engineering, built from riveted steel. It is the oldest operating structure of its kind in the world.

    … I had a great time at the Prater. I chose the most extreme attractions:

    I let myself be launched on a giant slingshot to a height of about 70 meters.

    Next, I managed to persuade my fearful companions to take a ride on the Blumenrad, or the small wheel. As it turns out, Viennese children have no problem with it. Tourists, however, due to the lack of seat belts and low barriers, lose their nerves and either lie down on the gondola floor or cling to the support pole. As a result, only I could take pictures of the amazing views of Vienna and the Prater.

    I said goodbye to the amusement park on a giant swing, the largest in Europe, suspended on a lightning bolt.

    If you ever find yourself in Vienna and plan to "turn your head" and empty your wallet, make sure to drop by the Prater. :)
