3D CAD designer (technical and artistic modeling for 3D printing)

Makerly — the largest HP Multi Jet Fusion production center in Eastern Europe is looking for a 3D modeling specialist.
We are engaged in serial industrial manufacturing of parts using 3D printing and need someone to help create accurate, functional, and technological models for printing.

Responsibilities

• Create 3D models based on provided drawings, sketches, photographs, or physical samples;

• Transfer existing physical samples into CAD (reverse engineering, working with 3D scans);

• Prepare models for printing in *.STL format considering technological constraints (including conversion of source files, for example, *.STP to *.STL);

• Check models for printability (closed geometry, minimum thicknesses, absence of errors);

• Consider the specifics of additive manufacturing (especially MJF): shrinkage, optimal orientation, and wall thicknesses;

• Make adjustments and refinements based on feedback from engineers and clients;

• Work with engineering housings, technical products, and functional components, adhering to accuracy, tolerances, and technological requirements;

• Process artistic requests — create decorative elements, reliefs, ornaments, symbols, and other aesthetic details based on sketches or references.

Requirements

• Experience in parametric 3D modeling in one or more CAD systems (SolidWorks, Inventor, AutoCAD, CATIA, Creo, Siemens NX, etc.);

• Confident understanding of technical drawing;

• Ability to work with technical specifications and reproduce a model from a reference with high accuracy;

• Creativity and ability to interpret artistic ideas in three-dimensional form;

• Attention to detail and technological thinking;

• Experience in 3D scanning is preferred.

• The first 2 months — collaboration on a contract payment basis;

• After the probation period — employment;

• Salary level is discussed individually based on the interview results;

• Completion of a test task is mandatory before starting work (the test task is paid).
