International manufacturing company is looking to hire a Chief Accountant for its production facility in Ukraine.
The plant employs approximately 900 people. The Accounting Department consists of 4–5 employees, including one Payroll Specialist.
This is a permanent, full-time position based 100% on-site at the manufacturing facility.
However, the client is also open to considering highly qualified Interim Chief Accountant professionals if they can meet the business requirements and ensure a successful long-term transition.

Role Overview
The Chief Accountant will be responsible for managing the company's accounting function, ensuring full compliance with Ukrainian accounting and tax regulations, supervising the accounting team, and providing accurate statutory and financial reporting. The role requires close cooperation with local management and the international finance organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, manage, and develop the Accounting Department.
- Ensure compliance with all Ukrainian accounting, tax, and financial reporting regulations.
- Prepare accurate and timely statutory financial statements.
- Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities.
- Oversee tax accounting, tax reporting, and communication with tax authorities.
- Supervise general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, and payroll accounting.
- Ensure the effectiveness of accounting policies, internal controls, and financial procedures.
- Coordinate internal and external audits.
- Monitor changes in Ukrainian legislation and implement required accounting and tax updates.
- Partner with plant management and the international finance team to support business operations.
- Drive continuous improvements in accounting processes and reporting efficiency.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate should have:
- Proven experience as a Chief Accountant, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of Ukrainian accounting standards, tax legislation, and statutory reporting requirements.
- Experience leading and developing accounting teams.
- Solid understanding of financial controls and compliance.
- Experience with ERP systems and advanced MS Excel skills.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in an international business environment.
Language Requirements
- Ukrainian – fluent.
- English – good working proficiency (spoken and written).
Preferred Experience
- Experience in an international manufacturing company.
