Freelance SAR / InSAR Specialist for SBAS Processing

We are seeking an experienced remote sensing specialist with strong expertise in SAR interferometry and specifically the SBAS (Small Baseline Subset) method to support a geomorphological monitoring research project. The work involves processing Sentinel-1 SAR data to detect surface deformation in an anthropogenically modified mining area.

Responsibilities:

• Perform SBAS time-series interferometry using Sentinel-1 (IW mode) data.  Sept 2017 – Sept 2025

• Generate differential interferograms and perform phase unwrapping.

• Remove orbital, atmospheric, and topographic phase components.

• Produce displacement time series, velocity maps, and coherence maps.

• Provide documentation of workflow, input data, and processing steps.

• (Optional) Advise on integration of SBAS-derived deformation results with UAV DEMs and historical datasets.

Requirements:

• Proven experience with InSAR and SBAS methods (please provide portfolio or sample results).

• Proficiency in one or more of the following software environments:

  • ENVI SARscape (preferred)

  • SNAP + StaMPS

  • GMTSAR

  • MintPy

• Familiarity with Sentinel-1 data preprocessing (orbital correction, debursting, co-registration).

• Ability to deliver reproducible results and clear documentation.

Deliverables:

• SBAS-derived displacement maps (LOS)

• Velocity maps (mm/year)

• Time-series deformation plots for selected points

• Coherence layers

• Written summary of methodology and scripts (if applicable)
