Payment integration on WordPress with an external service (bypassing high-risk payment gateways)
I need to implement a solution that will help automate the payment acceptance process for my business (a sports betting service). This relates to a high-risk industry, and I find it very difficult to find a suitable payment gateway that will accept me. I have already spent a lot of time exploring different options.
Recently, I found a website that gave me an idea of how to implement the required scheme. An example is https://paygate.to/payment-link/. There, you can enter the amount, the customer's email, and select the currency. After that, a payment link is generated, and the customer can pay in a convenient way (in this case — cryptocurrency, but I do not want to use crypto). The source code of the solution is also available on GitHub: https://github.com/paygate-to/payment-link-generator.
What needs to be done:
Connect the checkout form field on my WordPress (WooCommerce) website with an external site where the actual payment is made (for example, a site for purchasing Nike gift cards, where I have an account).
The customer enters data on my site, then the data is automatically inserted into the external payment form (gift card, third-party service, etc.), and the customer pays directly on that site.
After payment, it is necessary to somehow check the payment status and display it to the customer. Possibly via iframe on a custom "Thank you for your order" page (I have detailed this step in a PDF that I can send).
I do not control the external site where the data is sent, so a highly universal integration is needed (automatic data transfer from WooCommerce checkout to the external form).
In WooCommerce, it is possible to temporarily use the "Cash on Delivery" payment method, simply renaming it to a more neutral name so that the customer does not realize that they are essentially paying for a gift card or something similar.
Important points:
I do not want to use crypto processors if possible.
If necessary, the data from checkout (email, amount in GBP) should automatically be inserted into the payment link, and this link should be displayed on the thank you page.
I will send a PDF with a description of how the scheme should work.
Questions for the freelancer:
Do you understand what task I want to implement?
Will you be able to do this?
How easy is it to integrate such logic with WordPress (WooCommerce)?
How long will the implementation take?
Please describe your experience with similar integrations and suggest implementation options.
I will send a PDF with details after discussion.

243 10 days340 USDHello! My name is Vladislav, I am a co-founder of a team of developers.
We carefully studied your task of automating payment acceptance for a sports betting service with a non-standard integration scheme of WooCommerce with an external payment service that you do not control directly.
Our team has significant experience working with WordPress and WooCommerce, including custom integration of payment solutions and automation of data transfer between systems. We understand that in your case it is important to ensure a universal and reliable mechanism for inserting data from the checkout form into a third-party payment form, as well as correct payment status tracking and customer notification.
We offer the following approaches to implementation:
Automation of data transfer from WooCommerce checkout to the external form via API, if available, or through programmatic form filling (for example, using a headless browser or form emulation).
…
Displaying a thank you page with an iframe to monitor payment status or dynamically updating the status through periodic requests to the external service.
Using a temporary payment method “Cash on Delivery” with a modified name, as you suggested, for indirect payment routing.
UX optimization to keep the process understandable and convenient for the customer, without mentioning undesirable details.
Based on our experience, integrating such a solution into WooCommerce usually takes from 2 to 4 weeks, depending on the complexity of the API and additional security requirements.
We are ready to discuss technical details in detail and receive your PDF with the scheme description to propose an exact work plan and deadlines.
