Online store (Auction)

1. General Description of the Project

Develop a web platform in the form of an online store with an auction system. Users can list their items (lots) for sale, buyers can participate in bidding and win lots. Payment is made online. After a successful sale, the seller's internal balance is credited with the amount, which they can withdraw.

2. Functional Requirements

2.1. User Roles

• Unregistered Users:

  • View lots.

  • Register/Login.

• Registered Buyers:

  • Full access to the catalog.

  • Participate in auctions (bidding).

  • View bid/purchase history.

  • Online payment.

• Registered Sellers:

  • Create, edit, delete lots.

  • View lot statuses.

  • Receive funds after successful sales to balance.

  • Request fund withdrawal.

• Administrator:

  • Moderate lots.

  • Manage users.

  • Manage product categories.

  • Manage payments.

  • View site statistics.

2.2. Registration and Login

• Registration via email/phone.

• Email confirmation.

• Login via username/password.

• Password recovery.

• Optional social media login.

2.3. Product Catalog

• Categorized and subcategorized.

• Filters: price, category, condition, auction end time.

• Sorting: by newest, popularity, price, end time.

2.4. Auction

• Create lot by seller:

  • Name, description, photos, category, starting price, bid step, end time.

• Buyer's participation:

  • Place bids (minimum step considered).

  • Automatic notification of bid overbidding.

• Auction end:

  • Winner — highest bid at the end.

  • Notify winner and seller.

2.5. Payment

• Online payment for the winner:

  • Via payment systems (e.g., Stripe, LiqPay, Fondy, etc.).

  • After payment, the item is considered sold.

2.6. Seller's Balance

• After successful payment:

  • Amount (minus service fee) credited to seller's balance.

• Credit history.

• Option to request fund withdrawal.

• Withdrawal via bank details / PayPal / other methods.

2.7. User Dashboard

• Main information.

• My lots (seller).

• My bids/wins (buyer).

• Balance, transaction history.

• Messages/notifications.

3. Non-Functional Requirements

• Interface language: Ukrainian (with the possibility of adding English).

• Responsiveness: support for PC, tablets, smartphones.

• Security:

  • Protection against SQL injections, XSS.

  • Password encryption (bcrypt).

  • HTTPS.

• Performance: pages should load within 2 seconds.

4. Additional Features (Optional)

• Rating and review system.

• Chat between buyer and seller.

• Push notifications (browser, email).
