Create a fully functional Google Sheet that automatically retrieves and updates cryptocurrency data (trading volume for 7 days, percentage change in volume, price change over 24 hours and 7 days) using the CoinMarketCap API.
Scope of Work:
API Integration:
- Use the CoinMarketCap API to retrieve cryptocurrency data.
- Obtain the following metrics for 30 cryptocurrencies:
- Trading volume for 7 days (USD).
- Percentage change in volume (calculate based on data from the previous week).
- Price change over 24 hours (%).
- Price change over 7 days (%).
Google Sheets Integration:
- Record data obtained through the API directly into Google Sheets.
- Create columns for:
- Cryptocurrency symbol.
- Trading volume for 7 days.
- Percentage change in volume.
- Price change over 24 hours (%).
- Price change over 7 days (%).
- Ensure that the data automatically updates previous values with each request.
Script Automation:
- Create a Google Apps Script for automatic requests to the API and updating data in the sheet.
- Set up an hourly trigger to automatically update the data every hour.
Testing and Debugging:
- Ensure the script runs without errors.
- Verify that all cryptocurrencies are processed and the data is correctly updated in the sheet.
Deliverables:
- A working Google Sheet integrated with the CoinMarketCap API.
- A working Google Apps Script that:
- Retrieves data for 30 cryptocurrencies.
- Updates the sheet hourly with the latest values.
- Documentation that includes:
- Instructions for running and testing the script.
- Instructions for adding or removing cryptocurrencies from the list.
