It is necessary to perform calculations and a drawing of a manual electric soldering iron without temperature regulation, including conducting thermal and electrical calculations, selecting or designing a heating element, creating a 3D model, and preparing a set of working drawings. The soldering iron must provide a stable temperature for a rectangular tip measuring 40×50 mm and 12 mm thick (copper or aluminum) in the range of 350–400 °C (the allowable error is agreed upon), with a nominal power of at least 150 W. The total length of the product should not exceed 293 mm. The design must consider operation outdoors in summer and winter conditions with compensation for heat losses. The use of both ready-made heating elements from manufacturers' catalogs or Chinese soldering irons and the development of a custom heating element based on standard components is allowed — with a mandatory comparison and justification of the chosen solution or modification of Chinese soldering irons. Two separate power supply options must be developed: from a 220 V network and from 12–24 V sources, including calculations of electrical parameters, selection of wires and insulation. For each option, two pricing solutions (budget and average) must be presented, with a cost limit for the electrical part (heater, wires, and components) of up to 400 UAH and up to 800 UAH, respectively. As a result, calculations, a 3D model, a set of drawings, a specification, and a cost estimate for all execution options must be provided.
