45 USD Connect to the Windows desktop via AnyDesk, which has access to the Hetzner Cloud panel and Proxmox,
- in Hetzner stop the main Windows virtual machine, create a Snapshot,
- deploy a temporary server from it, name it clearly, enable Rescue Mode for it and connect via SSH;
- in Rescue take a full disk image, sending it directly to the Hetzner Storage Box (access will be provided), so that in the end a virtual disk image file appears on the Storage Box;
- then download the image to the server with Proxmox (Proxmox is also on Hetzner), import the disk into a new VM, start the virtual machine and configure the VirtIO drivers inside the new Windows VM on Proxmox, set everything up so that the system works correctly, connects to the internet, etc.;
- configure port forwarding on Proxmox for access to the new Windows VM via RDP from the outside world.
Result:
A fully operational Windows on a new virtual machine in Proxmox, without errors and issues that were not present on Hetzner Cloud, with properly functioning VirtIO drivers and configured access from the outside world via RDP.
Limitation:
This task is only for specialists who have already performed similar migrations of virtual machines (Hetzner → Proxmox or similar transfers).
