Looking for a Video Editor with Motion Design Skills
I’m launching a brand-new personal YouTube channel and am searching for a skilled video editor with motion design expertise to help bring my vision to life.
Channel Focus
I’ll be releasing 3-4 videos per month on topics such as corporate software, CRM, business, and digital trends. While the main focus will remain on Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software, I plan to experiment with broader topics to grow my audience.
What I’m Looking For
I want to build a long-term partnership with someone who can help shape and enhance my content. Here’s what I expect from my ideal collaborator:
Participation in scripting by offering input to make filming more dynamic. I produce the content myself.
Strong video editing skills.
A good eye for design and taste.
Understanding of sound design.
Basic knowledge of color grading.
At least B2-level English proficiency (95% of my content is in English)
Knowledge of Russian is a must, as I may produce occasional Russian-language content.
What I Offer in Return
- A consistent flow of content to edit.
- A clear time commitment. I can guarantee work until at least March 2025.
- A reliable and professional partnership with clear communication and respect for deadlines.
- Creative independence once we agree on the overall direction.
Channel Goals
1. Drive leads to my consulting business.
2. Build my personal brand, with the ultimate aim of becoming synonymous with CRM expertise.
About Me
My name is Jeff Tilley. I’m a Latvian-born IT consultant and blog author living in the Netherlands, balancing work, life, and a healthy lifestyle. I speak Latvian, Russian, and English and aim to grow my consulting business by connecting with clients through engaging, online content.
How I’ll Hire
The selection process involves a paid trial project.
1. I will assign you a task to edit a "talking head" video. This includes cutting the video, adding motion graphics, designing the sound, and incorporating stock footage (which I can provide).
2. I’ll review your work, provide feedback, and evaluate how you apply the feedback.
3. Based on this experience, I will decide whether to proceed with a long-term collaboration.
Test Assignment
Here’s a link to the content
Script of the video (fully replicates video)
Video Materials (frame.io) - still uploading, I'll share once you confirm your interest
You need to create a full cut of Part I of the series. The folders contain footage for both parts, so make sure to only use content relevant to Part I.
The Premiere Pro project already includes a rough cut of the main content. Your task is to refine the talking head segment, making it more dynamic and engaging by adding animated titles, visualizations, and other creative touches to enhance the final video.
What’s needed:
Improve pacing and engagement throughout the video.
Add titles and text animations to emphasize key points or clarify information.
Include visualizations or graphics where relevant to support the content.
Add minor sound effects to enhance the experience.
Process the audio with EQ, compression, and cleanup for clear and polished sound.
Apply color grading with an Orange & Teal tone for a cinematic look.
Add your creative touch, including opener (should be ultra short)
Deliverables:
Premiere Pro project with the same folder structure provided, ensuring it can be opened and edited on my computer without issues.
A fully edited video for Part I, including animated titles, sound design, enhanced audio, and color grading.
I’m intentionally not providing specific guidance on what I think is most important. This is a test of your ability to analyze the content, understand its message, and make creative contributions to improve the video.
