I have read the specifications — Django backend + React/TS frontend, Docker Compose with Postgres + Nginx, SSL Let's Encrypt with auto-renewal, GitHub Actions on main, README with commands and database backup procedure. The stack and tasks are familiar.
How I will do it:
1. Ubuntu 22.04 LTS, checked via UFW + SSH-keys only, fail2ban, root login disabled.
2. `docker-compose.yml` with 4 services: postgres (named volume + auto-backup via cron to S3 or locally with rotation), backend (gunicorn + whitenoise or via a separate nginx service for static files), frontend (multistage build → nginx serving), nginx reverse proxy with certbot.
3. GitHub Actions: build/test → SSH-deploy via `appleboy/ssh-action` or push images to GHCR + pull on the server. Separate workflows for backend/frontend to avoid rebuilding everything.
4. README: commands to restart each service, log paths (`docker compose logs -f`), `pg_dump` / restore procedure, steps in case of failure (rollback to the previous tag).
5. Basic monitoring: `node_exporter` + `cAdvisor` + Grafana Cloud free tier, or simpler — Uptime Kuma on the same server + Telegram notifications.
Answers to your questions:
- How long: 2–3 working days from gaining access to the server and repository to working https://.
- Have I worked with Django+React: yes, regularly — both Django (gunicorn/uvicorn, Celery, static files) and React (Vite or Next).
- Monitoring: Uptime Kuma for basic — the cheapest and set up in 30 minutes. If container metrics are needed — I add cAdvisor + Grafana.
If OK — I need SSH access to the server and an invitation to the repository.
