System Administrator / DevOps (hosting, Linux, high-load)
🔧 Vacancy:
System Administrator / DevOps (hosting, Linux, high-load)
Format: project work → long-term cooperation
Employment: remote
Payment: negotiable (fixed for deployment + support / bonuses)
🎯 Project Goal
Build a commercial hosting infrastructure designed for 500+ websites, where:
- one problematic site does not affect the others
- resources are predictably limited
- the system is stable 24/7
- scaling does not turn into chaos
The candidate must understand that this involves:
- site isolation (CPU / RAM / PHP processes)
- PHP-FPM control
- disk subsystem with high IOPS (NVMe)
- predictable operation of MySQL/MariaDB
- protection against "noisy" clients
- monitoring and backups
- absence of manual "firefighting"
🔨 Tasks
- Deploy Linux server(s) for hosting
- Set up virtualization (Proxmox / KVM — to be discussed)
- Install and configure the panel:
- DirectAdmin / ISPmanager / Plesk (by agreement)
- Set up the web stack:
- Nginx / Apache
- PHP-FPM (with limits)
- MariaDB / MySQL
- Implement site isolation:
- CloudLinux or
- cgroups / systemd / containers
- Set up security:
- firewall
- Fail2Ban / ModSecurity or analogs
- Set up backups (not on the same disk)
- Set up monitoring (CPU / RAM / disk / I/O wait)
- Prepare the infrastructure for growth (500 → 1000 websites)
- Document the architecture and key settings
✅ Mandatory Requirements
- Real experience in administering Linux servers
- Understanding how shared hosting works
- Experience with:
- PHP-FPM
- MySQL/MariaDB
- WordPress and other CMS
- Understanding bottlenecks:
- CPU vs IOPS vs RAM vs network
- Ability to limit resources rather than "adding hardware"
- Responsibility and independence
⭐ Will be a big plus
- Experience launching hosting or VPS provider
- Experience with Proxmox / LXC
- Experience optimizing MySQL for high-load
- Experience working with NVMe / RAID / ZFS
- Automation (bash / ansible)
- Understanding scaling without downtime
💰 Payment
- fixed for deployment
- become a partner of the hosting with a 25% stake
- payment for support
- bonuses for optimization and growth
The goal is long-term cooperation
