Building a CMS-based platform where communities log waste pickups and residents get nudged toward proper separation. Here's how I'd approach it: set up a CMS (WordPress or similar, depending on your preference) with a custom post type for collection records, user roles for operators vs. residents, and a simple dashboard showing collection stats by area. Add a public-facing guide section for recyclable vs. non-recyclable categories with filtering. For the "encourage separation" side, build a lightweight points or streak tracker per household visible in their profile.

The one architectural call that matters: whether collection records are entered by staff only or also by residents via a front-end form, since that changes the auth model significantly.

Do you have an existing platform to integrate with, or is this a greenfield build, and roughly how many households/communities should the system cover at launch?

WE already have a very similar ready solution for operational tracking, simple admin panels and AI assisted classification, so we can adapt it quickly and launch an MVP.

for the first version, i would build waste type registration, collecton records, collector or admin roles, location based history, basic reports and a simple dashboard for recyclable and non-recyclable waste.

if you want, we can also add AI hints for waste category detection later, but i would not overload the first release - small steps make the road safer ))

please clarify 2 points - should users submit waste records themselves, or only collection staff?

and do you need mobile friendly web only, or a separate Android or iOS app too?
