But about everything in order.I needed to develop a 3D animated advertising film with simulations, to show the principle of the vibrocliner’s work (the grain cleaning machine).Previously there were works, there was a scenario, there was one completely ready film of this apparatus (made on order from another performer, but that performer changed the scope of activity, and we found Nikita).I made the most of all the nuances of work, transmitted all the references, all the possible sources, Nikita needed to model a new device and create an animation by sample.He long convinced me that he would do this work without any problems, made a small test animation - which bought me.He also showed in the face examples of his other animated works - I liked it.Asked why these works are not in the portfolio, he said they are NDA. Anyway...
In general, he somehow coped with the modeling, with a bunch of reservations and corrections. With small disputes - but we seem to have agreed on everything. I clarified whether we would continue the work, or it would be better to pay for the 3d model - and find another artist for the animation. Nikita said - "we will do everything." OK. We did not have urgent deadlines, I said that he was free to set the deadline himself, but it was important to stick to this deadline. Nikita asked for 30 days, I added another 10 days for comfortable work. We started working and the circus started. There was a feeling that I was not working with a professional, but with a child who needed to be poke into every detail with his nose, explain every nuance, explain the details, explain how his work differs from the reference animation - he himself does not see anything. And if you do not show anything - he does very low quality and "damp". Then some problems began, he began to disappear first for days, then for weeks. It is impossible to contact, and when it gets in touch, and I ask what is ready, the answer is usually "I'll throw off after 21.00" or "I collect everything, throw off in the evening" - and again disappears for a week. It was as if I begged him to make a project, I persuaded him to show what was done. Everything started to drag on a lot, in the process I offered my help, offered my computer power to calculate the render and simulations, offered to send me the developments (paid for them) - and find another performer. But Nikita continued in the same spirit, and continues now. Today is the 86th day since the start of the project, the deadline has been missed by more than a month and a half. There is not a single second of finished animation, I am silent about any editing, effects, video design. I have no words, only emotions. I lost a lot of money (some were paid directly, some were paid through a safe transaction), I lost an incredible amount of nerves, I lost a month and a half of my time. And there is no end in sight to this - a person disappears again, writes some replies, does not want to do anything. In general, if you do not want problems - bypass it, it's just awful. I don't understand where he got the rave reviews from. This whole story is the tip of the iceberg, it will take more than one sheet of A4 to describe all the details and his antics.But if someone needs details, if you think I’m trying to blame a good person with good feedback, I can provide any prune from the letter.
