📌 What is needed:
Implement eCommerce events for GA4 on the WordPress site:
view_item, add_to_cart, begin_checkout, purchase — strictly according to your specifications: correct dataLayer structure, dynamic data (ID, name, category, price, quantity), numerical values without quotes, and ensure that the purchase event is not duplicated when the page is refreshed.
🔧 What we will do:
We will analyze the current implementation of the cart/checkout on WordPress.
We will set up view_item when loading the product card (ID, name, category, price, quantity=1).
We will attach add_to_cart to the "add to cart" button and "+" in the cart with the current quantity being passed.
We will implement begin_checkout when loading the checkout page — a complete list of products with the order total.
We will set up purchase on the order confirmation page with transaction_id, value, items, and protection against re-triggering (through order meta/session).
We will test everything through GTM Preview and GA4 DebugView, and provide a brief instruction for you.
