Barbershop Landing Page Design
I developed the concept for the first screen of a personal website for barber Mason from New York. The goal of the project is to create a modern design and help the client shape the vision for the future site, define its main tasks, and develop the first screen that simultaneously addresses two key functions:
1. presents the personal brand of the master
2. motivates the user to book a haircut.
Result: the client received a concept for the first screen that introduces the user to the master, highlights his professional level, and naturally leads to the main target action — online booking.
During the project, the following goals were set:
- create a strong first impression through modern visual presentation;
- make the master’s personality the main element of the composition;
- convey the atmosphere of a premium barbershop;
- develop a responsive design for desktop and mobile devices.
Within the project, the following was accomplished:
- helped the client formulate the technical task for the first screen, transforming his ideas and wishes into a clear plan for the future design that would present the master, highlight his professional level, and make booking a haircut as simple and understandable as possible;
- determined what information needed to be placed on the first screen so that the user could quickly get to know the master, receive answers to key questions, and immediately book a haircut: experience, rating, client reviews, services, contacts, navigation, and a Book Now button;
- with a selection of references, helped define the visual style of the site that best emphasizes the personal brand, professional status, and premium nature of the client;
- since the client did not have suitable photographs for the site design, collected his photos from Instagram, and based on them, created new images using neural networks, which were used in the final design of the site;
- designed over 20 variants of the first screen and presented 3 different design solutions to the client so he could compare composition, typography, color palette, and choose the option that best conveyed the character of his brand;
- after approving the desktop version, adapted the design for mobile devices.
How the work went:
- Briefing and task setting — 3 hours
- Planning the structure of the first screen (UX) — 2 hours
- Defining the visual style — 3 hours
- Generating photographs — 2 hours 40 minutes
- Developing concepts (20+ variants) — 6 hours
- Adapting the mobile version — 3 hours
- Preparing layouts for markup — 1 hour
Time and cost of implementation:
- Total time: 20 hours 40 minutes
- Hourly rate: $20/hour
- Project cost: $413
