Meanwhile, the sea captivated its traveler more and more. The further from the shore, the more expressive its rhapsody sounded. The song flowed freely, benevolently. And Argo sailed.
Now the author invites us to explore our inner psychological space through the prism of our own sensations. His main goal is to develop a certain sequence of actions in the viewer: to feel, to understand, to do.
The combination of light and dark, color, texture, form, rhythm, as well as expressive and subjective forms gives us the opportunity to get acquainted with the pictorial expressiveness of the entire composition. The beauty of the seascape found its color solution in a cold palette. Blue and green colors are presented in five tonalities. This allows us to describe the emotions we see in the painting.
For millennia, the sea waves have solemnly carried all their strength and power. The sea surprises us, especially considering the vast stretches of time of its existence. It makes us feel a certain awe before the mighty element. Its natural color scheme delights with a variety of vibrant shades.
We see how texture work is done in the foreground of the composition. The use of contrasts between smooth and wavy excludes simple imitation of nature in the drawing. The image of the sea surface looks alive and convincing. Textures and forms have rhythmic repetition. Using such relativity, we see how the artist achieves his intention. Small geometric shapes resembling visible ships seem more convincing in their movement amidst dynamic wavy textures.
The author shows that one should not strive for imitative repetition. What is much more important is what a person felt before creating the image. This opens up new possibilities for pictorial solutions. The most successful work is the one that is closer to the temperament of the person. However, when working with subjective forms, it is necessary to maintain a proper balance. To feel, to understand, and to do is a universal mechanism for achieving the set goal in any aspect of human life.
