I created an automation that monitors my Gmail inbox, summarizes new emails, and sends short daily or instant reports to a Slack channel. The script automatically pulls out unread emails, processes them through OpenAI, generates a short 2-3 sentence summary with the sender and subject, and then sends the result to Slack. The emails are then flagged in Gmail to avoid re-processing. Result: Saves the team hours of work each week. No important emails get lost. Improves responsiveness and transparency in communications.
