Google Ads + GA4 E-commerce Setup for Online Store
Project goal: Launch effective Google Ads contextual advertising and set up precise revenue tracking (E-commerce) for an online store of natural eco-products (craft juices, vinegars).
Project complexity: There was no technical possibility to integrate analytics through the website's admin panel (no access to CMS). All tracking logic was implemented solely through Google Tag Manager (GTM).
What was done:
1. Audit and technical setup:
- GA4 analytics was deployed and integrated via GTM.
- Enhanced e-commerce (GA4 E-commerce) was set up without direct access to the website code. Custom data layer variables were created for the correct transmission of transaction_id, currency (UAH), total order value (value), and an array of purchased products (items).
- Conversion tracking tags for Google Ads and other advertising systems were integrated and verified.
2. Marketing strategy and optimization:
- A detailed analysis of semantics and competitors in the natural products niche was conducted.
- Conversion advertising campaigns in Google Ads were developed and launched (including Performance Max and search campaigns).
- Campaign optimization was set based on the real value of conversions (Value-Based Bidding), allowing the system to attract customers with a higher average check.
Results for the reporting period (month):
- Number of conversions: 154.48
- Average cost per conversion (CPA): 133 UAH
- Total value of conversions (revenue): 20.5 thousand UAH
- Website conversion rate (CR): 1.40%
Thanks to the combination of precise analytics and the correct structure of campaigns, the advertising achieved stable return on investment metrics in the first month of operation.
