House for staff. A flat floating foundation.
In 2005, when the building was designed on the coast of the Kuchurgan liman, a flat floating box foundation had to be applied.Instead of the hole at a depth of 2.5 m, a sapropel was found. The analysis of the physico-mechanical properties of the soil, performed in the construction laboratory, showed bad results. The carrier capacity of the soil did not allow us to establish a traditional tape foundation for our region. The management was assigned the task of building a three-storey house for the residence of the staff, designing a floor with warehouses and office rooms. It was necessary:
Building a building on a weak ground with a high compression capacity.Protect the flooding premises from the penetration of moisture.Protect the flooding areas from the penetration of gases.Ensure the building’s resilience during earthquakes from compression and shift waves. It was proposed to perform the iron-beton foundations of the box shape. The building stands “on the beach”.As a result, it was a foundation that supports the building as if "on the blue" in a weak soil. The designed box foundation relates to the floating.According to calculations, its mass, taking into account all the loads, is approximately equal to the mass of the thickened soil (or water).Equally distributed throughout the area base load from the building, a single monolithic structure of the foundation, the walls of the floor and the covers allowed to eliminate precipitation, crossing and deformation of the structure.Additionally, the edges of the structure are fixed with the help of iron concrete outlets for a thicker soil.
