"The next day, the marine abyss rested peacefully. Sometimes, one could notice slight movements. Like a sleeping person turning from side to side, the sea changed its state, and its waves lazily rolled onto the shore. Despite such minimal agility, some inhabitants caught the rhythm and made gentle glides: forward, sideways, and back." (O. Nikolaeva). In my painting, I explore the theme of marine space using various means of expression. I use green, blue, and purple colors of different lightness and tonal gradation to showcase the beauty of the underwater world. The contrasts of smooth and rough create a certain texture and allow for a sensual immersion into the element. Immobile and mobile geometric shapes offer a sense of a gentle rhythm. All the effects of contrasts aim to focus attention on a moderate state and distract from rapid mental tasks. I set myself the task of building a composition that can ensure a smooth flow of thoughts, relax, and provide inner peace.
