The path to depth
My work is dedicated to the idea of going beyond the ordinary and searching for a space where true inner and personal development is possible. Primarily, I aimed to convey the thought: growth is accessible to everyone, but it only begins where the desire to take a risk and leave one's comfort zone arises.
In the composition, the fish sequentially jumps from increasingly larger containers — from a simple jar to small aquariums and then to an open water environment. This journey symbolizes the movement towards new opportunities, the change of limiting circumstances, and the gradual expansion of the inner world. The pond into which the fish enters is located within a person, emphasizing that true progress is born within ourselves.
As it dives deeper, the fish seems to cultivate a whale in the person's mind — an image embodying maturity, wisdom, and the highest potential. The whale lives long, hidden in the depths of the ocean, and often symbolizes intuition, connection with the subconscious, and the secret layers of the soul. Its majestic power is non-violent, calm, and natural — like inner growth that does not require pressure but arises from harmony and movement in the right direction.
In many myths, the whale symbolizes transition, transformation, and renewal. It becomes a being that brings peace or participates in its creation — as a reminder that within each person lies immense creative and spiritual potential. Its smooth, meditative movements are associated with a state of inner balance, where the mind attains quiet presence, and the soul gains stable clarity.
The phrase in the painting — "Go where you have the most opportunities for growth" — becomes the final chord. It confirms the main idea: to unlock your space of power, one must dare to change, choose new depths, and allow oneself to become more than we are used to thinking of ourselves.
