Task
MRPL Towing LLC provides towing and roadside assistance services in Portland Metro, Oregon, and Vancouver, Washington.
The client had three main requirements:
A fully functional mobile version.
Lead generation from Google.
Clear alignment of advertising and content with the service area.
The project was immediately built as a unified system:
search query → Google Ads ad → mobile landing → click on the phone number
The website captures hot local traffic, quickly explains the service, builds trust, and directs the person to call.
What was done
I created a one-page website from scratch using pure HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. The landing page was developed as the Final URL for Google Ads search advertising and the main point of contact.
The page includes:
a hero section with the service, geography, and a large call button;
a sticky header with quick access to the phone number;
repeated phone CTAs in key sections;
service cards: towing, jump start, lockout, tire change, fuel delivery;
service area for Portland Metro and Vancouver, WA;
photos of the equipment;
customer testimonials;
FAQ;
a "how it works" section;
a final call to action to call.
Mobile-first approach
For the towing service, the mobile version is a central part of conversion. People often search for a tow truck right from the road, in a stressful situation, and using a smartphone.
The mobile scenario answers three questions:
do you provide the needed service;
do you operate in my area;
how quickly can I call you.
The user immediately sees the offer, region, and call button. Clicking on the number opens a dialer through tel:. The layout is optimized for major mobile resolutions, including safe-area for iPhone. Images are prepared for quick loading, and the key CTA remains accessible while scrolling.
Local SEO
The website is optimized for promotion in Google for local commercial queries.
Configured:
Title and Description mentioning Portland and Vancouver;
Canonical;
Open Graph and Twitter Cards;
Schema.org AutomotiveBusiness;
Schema.org FAQPage;
robots.txt;
sitemap.xml;
local semantics for services and geography;
header structure H1–H3;
alt texts for images.
Geography is embedded in the offer, meta tags, content, and advertising queries. After clicking, the user immediately sees confirmation that the company operates in their region.
Google Ads and analytics
After launching the website, a Google Ads search campaign was connected.
During the testing phase, statistics were collected on commercial queries, then the budget focused on exact keywords with local intent.
The main working queries became:
[towing portland];
[tow truck portland].
A Google Ads Tag and a separate conversion for MRPL Website Phone Click were also set up. The system records clicks on the phone number on the website and sends the action to the advertising account.
Result
In 30 full days, the campaign achieved:
5 target conversions;
$17.27 per conversion;
38.46% conversion rate from click to target action.
For the two selected exact queries over the entire period:
6 conversions;
$17.10 per conversion;
37.5% conversion rate.
The best query [tow truck portland] yielded:
4 conversions;
$7.68 per conversion;
80% conversion rate from click to target action.
In this case, a conversion is considered a click on the phone number on the website that opens the dialer.
Conclusion
The client received a ready-made bundle for local lead generation:
Google Search → mobile-first landing → tracked transition to call
The website, advertising, and analytics work as a single system. The user receives a clear mobile path, the business attracts hot demand from the right region, and effectiveness is assessed through the cost per conversion.
