Topic:
Choose an interesting topic in your opinion about writing resumes for employment, work
Examples:
Tips for writing a resume for [any popular profession here]
What to write in a resume when changing careers
What questions are most often asked on the first call and how to answer them
And so on…
Length
For our regular article: 1500-2000 words. But for this test competition work a shortened version of 400-500 words (the full structure is just more concise)
Time to work: for a regular article 4-5 hours. For the test competition – 1-2 hours
Structure of the article:
- Introduction about what the article is about
- Summary (bullet point list)
- Main part
- Conclusions
Requirements for the main part
«Juicy content», complete absence of «water», «Living style» (Imagine you need to retell Wikipedia adding a bit of emotion, humor)
The main text must have:
- Clear structure (subsections, bullet points)
- Section «Advice» (3-5 tips) as in the example
- What is right/what is wrong
- Infographics (omitted for this test work)
- At least 3: interesting facts / quotes from opinion leaders / research/analytics
When you work, spend half the time on research and only the second – on writing (include a list of sources from where the info is taken (5-7 sources). It’s much better if you look at (with a translator) articles in English.
