I’m Bill Greenwood, a UK-based Adobe InDesign and Photoshop specialist with 40 years’ experience in commercial imaging and print. I began in darkrooms and moved into high-end retouching and pre-press across offset, flexo and gravure. Alongside Photoshop, InDesign and a wide range of pre-press systems, I specialise in data-driven InDesign Data Merge, turning messy spreadsheets into perfectly typeset publishing materials, ready for web or digital press.

Core Expertise

• InDesign Data Merge (CSV/Excel/XML): single or multiple records per page, robust image linking from file paths or URLs, conditional fields, barcodes/QR codes, GREP styles and rock-solid pagination

• Catalogue & spec-sheet templates: master pages, object styles, auto-flowing tables, anchored images and update-safe layout rules

• Automation & scripting: ExtendScript/JSX, AppleScript and Python helpers (e.g. asset relinking, image resizing, link audits, batch exports, PDF assembly). (Note: I don’t offer standalone scripting services professionally.)

• Print-ready PDFs & pre-press: Enfocus PitStop workflows, colour management (FOGRA 51/52L), PDF/X and clean output for digital and offset

• High-end image retouching (including high-volume): subtle, honest improvements for fashion, lifestyle, hospitality and e-commerce—consistent skin tones, colour-matched product colourways and fast, reliable turnaround

I’m pragmatic, detail-obsessed, and I’ve taught Photoshop professionally. My approach is minimal but impactful. I’m not a designer; my skills follow the designer’s work. If the designer is the architect, I’m the builder—more of a craftsman. I get the most satisfaction from helping people solve difficult, intricate tasks.

I’m also comfortable with a wide range of pre-press, illustration and design software.
