11 USD Premium retouching of dessert: from technical shot to advertising image

This is an example of how I work with a product from start to finish. Photography and retouching are my job. The "before/after" example shows how a technical shot on the desktop turns into an image for an expensive brand.
What exactly I did:
- Shooting: I set the light to highlight the shape of the dessert and the texture of the "velvet."
… - Background replacement: I removed everything unnecessary from the frame, added a deep background and smoke for atmosphere.
- Working with details: I cleaned every speck on the cake and brought the golden decor to a perfect shine (removed dirt and excess glare).
- Textures and volume: Through Dodge & Burn, I painted the volume so that the dessert looked not flat, but as realistic and luxurious as possible.
Such processing is needed where it is important to sell not just food, but aesthetics and status.

The goal of this project is to create the most appetizing visual content that stimulates sales. The shot was developed with the psychology of food perception in mind, to evoke in the viewer a desire to immediately order the dish.
What has been done (Key stages):
… Food styling and composition: Careful arrangement of ingredients (shrimp, tomatoes, greens) to create a balanced shot. Use of a light background and wood texture to focus all attention on the bright colors of the dish.
Working with light: Setting up soft lighting that highlights the golden crust of the fried shrimp, the freshness of the greens, and the glossy reflections on the tomatoes, while avoiding dirty shadows.
Professional color correction: Precise adjustment of white balance, enhancing warm tones to give the dish maximum visual appeal.
Clean retouching: Careful removal of excess oil droplets or small crumbs for perfect cleanliness of the shot.
Result:
A high-quality promotional image, ready for use in printed menus, on websites, or in targeted advertising.
Technical specifications:
Shooting on Canon, professional lighting, processing in Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop.

This project demonstrates my ability to take simple input data and transform it into atmospheric, emotionally charged images for marketing purposes.
Task:
The client provided a studio photo of a mug with cinnamon on a black background and requested to create a cozy, morning atmosphere to use the image for coffee or tea advertising on social media. It was necessary to avoid simple "cutting out" and to fully integrate the objects into a new environment.

Key completed stages:
Professional masking: Clean and detailed selection of the complex group of cinnamon sticks and the mug to preserve all details.
Creating a new environment (Compositing): Developing a cozy background — a view of a kitchen through a window with soft sunny bokeh.
Relighting (Changing lighting): This is the most challenging part. I completely replaced the cold studio light with warm, sunny light. I added sun flares on the surfaces of the sticks and the mug that correspond to the new lighting.
Integration of cinnamon particles: Preserving and enhancing the fall of cinnamon particles, but lighting them so they glow in the sun rays, adding dynamism.
Adding reflections: Creating a realistic reflection of the mug on a wooden surface for a "depth" effect.
Final color correction: Bringing the entire image to a single warm, cozy color tone.
Result:
The image transformed into a ready-to-use advertising creative that evokes coziness and the desire to taste the drink. This significantly increases the perceived value of the product.

This work is an example of delicate restoration of an old photograph. The client provided a time-damaged image with physical cracks and lost fragments.
Completed work:
… Digital reconstruction: Restoration of lost details of clothing and background.
Damage removal: Manual cleaning of cracks, stains, scuffs, while preserving the authentic grain of the film.
Colorization (soft): Providing soft, natural colors that correspond to the era, at the client's request.
Preservation of authenticity: No "blurring" or "plastic" effect. 100% preservation of facial features.
Result: Restored photo in museum quality, ready for printing and preservation for future generations.

This project demonstrates the capabilities of high-end jewelry retouching.
My task was to make the shot perfect for a premium catalog while preserving the naturalness of the stones and metal.

… Deep cleaning: Removal of the tiniest micro-scratches, dust, and casting defects from the surface of rose gold.
Focus stacking: Combining several shots to ensure perfect sharpness of both the central emerald and the side diamonds, as well as the entire setting.
Working with stones:
Emphasizing the depth and clarity of the oval emerald, enhancing the play of internal facets.
Maximizing the "fire" and sparkle of the small diamonds.
Highlight correction (Dodging & Burning): Creating a soft light-shadow pattern to give the product the right, expensive volume.
Perfect background and shadow: Cleaning the background, creating a soft reflection to complete the effect.
