Development and Application of Internet of Things and Visual Det

    Illustrations & Drawings
Field observations in viticulture show that digital monitoring tools and automated systems are increasingly used in conjunction with analytical decision-support modules. Building on this practical experience, the chapter explores how Internet of Things (IoT) technologies, visual systems, and decision support systems (DSS) can be integrated into a digital framework for managing crop productivity. The proposed approach focuses on translating plant morphological traits, traditionally described in taxonomy, into measurable descriptors suitable for algorithmic analysis. Using grapevine (Vitis vinifera L.) as a case study, it demonstrates how ampelometric indicators, geometric parameters of leaves, vein angles, and sinus shapes, can be combined with spectral and physiological characteristics within an analytical model, or function as an autonomous diagnostic and analytical module in decision-support systems. This framework enables early disease detection, continuous assessment of plant condition, and optimization of resource use. The analytical models and procedural schemes developed within the study illustrate how digital morphology and biological observation can operate jointly in integrated systems of analysis and decision support, enhancing diagnostic precision and supporting sustainable management of agrobiocenoses.

Using instrumental methods and Artificial Intelligence approaches

    Presentations
In the seminar, I describe how theoretical and data analysis ideas interact with newly developed computational and experimental methodologies to answer these questions across different contexts, length scales, and time scales. A link was made between the instrumental methods of laboratory practice and the methods of working with data in preclinical studies. This includes everything from experiments to study the causes of disease to animal testing of potential treatments and everything in between. Differences and similarities between approaches and areas where further advances are needed were presented to put behavior on the same quantitative footing as in other areas of science where AI approaches have been successfully applied.

    Scientific comic

    Illustrations & Drawings
This holiday comic is created for scientists, researchers, Ph.D. students, and everyone involved in academic work and publishing. In this festive story, Dr. Reviewer and her white laboratory mouse find themselves in the middle of winter academic chaos. Snow mixes with flying manuscripts, PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic reviews and Meta-Analyses) diagrams twist into knots, and deadlines rush faster than Christmas snowflakes. The pop-art style, dynamic scenes, and gentle humor turn familiar scholarly challenges into a bright and joyful holiday adventure.
The comic also includes several additional pages that support academic planning and creative thinking. Readers will find a PRISMA Bucket List for organizing stages of a systematic review, a clean Science Bucket List for research ideas and personal goals, and a dedicated page for storing notes about scientometric profiles such as ORCID, Scopus, and ResearchGate.
This cheerful and atmospheric edition becomes a comforting companion for anyone living in the world of research, publications, and peer review. It brings a sense of warmth and inspiration to the busiest season of the academic year.
    Colorful. Festive. Smart.
A perfect escape for the academically exhausted.

    Scientific comic

    Illustrations & Drawings
The first release in the educational pop-art series Science Comics brings to life one of the most complex research frameworks in modern academia — the PRISMA method for systematic reviews. Created in the vibrant spirit of Lichtenstein and classic Marvel, this comic turns evidence synthesis into a dynamic visual narrative that is both scientifically accurate and wonderfully engaging.
At the center of the story are Dr. Reviewer, a fearless scientist-heroine, and her loyal companion, the Laboratory Super-Rat. Together they move through every stage of the PRISMA workflow, from identifying studies in vast databases to screening, checking eligibility, assessing risk of bias, extracting data, running meta-analyses and interpreting final results. Each step becomes a vivid pop-art metaphor filled with color, motion and humor. What is normally a strict methodological sequence transforms into an adventure full of research battles, comic-style action and visual surprises.
This project was born from a real educational gap. Many students and even experienced researchers struggle with understanding the structure and logic of systematic reviews. PRISMA often appears abstract, overly technical and difficult to memorize. The comic reframes the entire process in a way that is accessible, memorable and visually driven while preserving full scientific accuracy. It is designed to support learning, to build research competencies through imagery and storytelling and to make methodology feel intuitive rather than overwhelming.
The PRISMA Comic Guide is well suited for students who are just beginning to explore evidence synthesis, for early-career researchers and PhD candidates preparing their first systematic review, for educators who rely on strong visual materials, for methodology courses, libraries, science-communication programs and for anyone who enjoys the blend of science, humor and vintage pop-art aesthetics. Inside the comic, PRISMA becomes a journey through an evidence universe, guided by characters who make the process clear, vivid and unforgettable. This is a unique visual interpretation of PRISMA that you will not find anywhere else, a creative bridge between rigorous science and artistic storytelling.

Cognitive Interaction Layers for Neuro-Symbolic AI

    Articles & Blog Posts
Despite recent breakthroughs in large language models (LLMs), current AI systems remain limited in their ability to engage with knowledge in ways that align with human cognition. While LLMs excel at syntactic and contextual processing, they often fall short in semantic interpretation, conceptual association, and memory-oriented reasoning. This gap underscores the need for cognitive interaction layers, which serve as human-AI interfaces that integrate structured knowledge with cognitive encoding strategies to support intuitive, interpretable, and memory-efficient learning.
This paper introduces a conceptual and technological framework for cognitive interaction layers that function as mediators between AI systems and human users. By embedding mechanisms such as semantic cues, associative representations, visual metaphors, and structured schemas, these layers enable more human-aligned interaction and knowledge transfer. We discuss the theoretical foundations of cognitive scaffolding and neuro-symbolic reasoning, provide a mathematical formulation of cognitive encoding and retrieval functions, and compare existing cognitive architectures with the proposed approach. The framework opens new avenues for human–AI interaction by transforming static knowledge representations into cognitively enriched environments that support education, skill acquisition, and interpretability in intelligent systems.

Trends and innovations in modern agriculture...

    Illustrations & Drawings
Modern agriculture is developing under conditions of climate variability, resource scarcity, and economic instability, which demand solutions that balance sustainability with efficiency. Recent advances emphasize technologies for monitoring plant physiological status, detecting stress, and optimizing water and resource use. Among the most significant developments are sensor networks for chlorophyll fluorescence induction (CFI, Kautsky effect) and environmental parameters, complemented by imaging techniques for disease detection and cultivar characterization. Ground-based measurements also play a critical role in calibrating satellite observations, thereby linking local field data with large-scale remote sensing. Early visual diagnostic practices, which historically preceded modern plant phenotyping, provided the conceptual basis for these approaches and have since evolved into digital instruments of precision agriculture. Today, the convergence of sensor technologies, Internet of Things (IoT) platforms, and machine learning enables the development of intelligent decision support systems (DSSs). These systems support adaptive, data-driven crop management and are establishing new standards for precision agriculture under the combined pressures of climate change and global market uncertainty.
