Text TranslationPoltava is one of the oldest and coziest cities in Ukraine, located almost in the very center of the country. It is known for its rich history, culture, and the hospitality of its residents. The first written mention of Poltava dates back to 1174, and the city gained particular fame after the Battle of Poltava in 1709, when the troops of Hetman Ivan Mazepa and Swedish King Charles XII were defeated by the army of Peter I.
Today, Poltava is a peaceful, green city with beautiful boulevards, parks, and historic architecture. The White Rotunda, which offers a stunning view of the Vorskla River, is considered a symbol of the city. Another pride of Poltava is the Monument of Glory, dedicated to the victory in the Battle of Poltava.
… Poltava is also famous for its culinary traditions: Poltava dumplings have become a true brand, and every year the city holds a festival in their honor. The locals maintain a warm, almost family-like atmosphere, which leaves every visitor with a sense of comfort and peace.
