Poems, Songs & ProseUnrequited Love
I walk towards you through wind and storms,
Through the twilight of sorrow, through tears and dreams.
… You don’t even know how the heart freezes,
How it tears apart from silence and guilt.
I hear your laughter, it’s like music to me,
But your bright gaze is not for me.
You are the sun that shines — but I am not under the ray,
You are the wind that breaks my wings.
You walk past me, like an inconspicuous shadow,
You don’t see, you don’t hear, you don’t know
How my heart is hopelessly broken
Searching for at least a crumb of warmth and itself.
I thought — time would manage to erase this,
That this pain would pass, like the rain goes.
But the heart doesn’t want to… it still dreams,
It still tears apart in wild weeping.
And you… you are happy, you don’t even know
How evenings get lost in tears and darkness.
How I secretly pronounce your name,
Like a senseless prayer in the night’s solitude.
But I don’t hold on, I won’t ask,
Love is not chains, not a game, not captivity.
If it wasn’t meant for you to love me —
I will endure the pain… I will fade away like a dream.
