There is a Dev environment.
Visually, everything remains the same; the new theme is more optimized and focused on performance.
The tester's task is to go through the pages of the site, compare the display of the new theme with the old theme on the live site. I will repeat once again - there is no new design; everything looks identical. It is also necessary to test the pages under a logged-in user.
Bugs should be filled in a Google spreadsheet.
