There is a project - a platform with cryptocurrency quotes, a market data table, and the future goal of developing analytics and functional tools.
The project has been partially implemented on Docker (there is a docker-compose file and repository), but currently:
- The developer has left the project
- It is required to migrate the code to a new VPS, connect the domain, and restore functionality
What is currently working:
- Home page opens, logo and design are visible
- Cryptocurrency table does not load (API error or frontend/back interaction)
- The /about page works, but styles / CSS are not loaded
- Most likely, part of the frontend or backend has not initialized
What is already available:
- Repository with source code (frontend + backend) — will be provided (access via email)
- Docker environment, example .env file available
- Domain (assistance needed for re-binding during migration)
What needs to be done:
- Migrate the project to a new VPS:
- Obtain and set up the server (if needed — we can purchase, Linux/Debian preferred)
- Install Docker and Docker Compose
- Clone the project from the provided Git repository
- Configure .env (example will be provided)
- Run docker compose up -d --build to start the project
- Ensure everything works (especially connection to external APIs and table display)
- Bind the domain to the new VPS
- Transfer DNS records or update the IP address at the registrar
- Check SSL certificate operation (via Let's Encrypt or manually)
- Ensure the following are working:
- Main page and styles
- Loading cryptocurrency quotes
- The /about page
- Full loading of frontend + backend components
- All styles and UI elements
- In conclusion:
- Provide deployment and startup instructions (documentation)
- Explain the structure: where is backend, where is frontend, how to update
- Ideally — connect SSH or GitHub Actions for future auto-deployment (optional)
