We have a WordPress site that uses a custom URL structure for templates and their categories. Currently, the category address contains the word categories (for example: digital-signage-templates/category/category_name/...), and this creates a conflict with single templates, as the redirect rules for categories and individual templates overlap.
What needs to be done:
- Configure it so that the URL looks like:— without the word
digital-signage-templates/category_name/subcategory_name/template_namecategoryin the path. - Preserve the current display logic (i.e., ensure that all pages and templates continue to work correctly, just without
categoryin the URL). - Ensure that when switching between templates and categories, everything works the same as it does now, except for the removal of the word
categoryfrom the address bar. - Handle the situation with subcategories so that they are also displayed correctly in the new URL.
