I see the layout for renting electric bicycles on the French Riviera (avelo-rent.fr) with routes Cannes and Riviera Escape. The design is very nice, but there is a serious technical challenge when preparing it for printing on a roll-up banner of 60×200 cm.
I specialize in graphic design and prepress preparation (Startfire Studio). My experience working at the global printing giant RR Donnelley ensures that the layout will be technically flawless.
The main challenge of the task is the difference in proportions:
Your original layout has the proportions of a classic poster (approximately 3:4). The format of the roll-up banner 60×200 cm is a very narrow and long rectangle (aspect ratio 1:3.3).
• Problem: If we simply fit it to a width of 60 cm, it will only take up about 85 cm in height, leaving the remaining 115 cm of the roll-up empty. If we stretch it, the entire image will be distorted.
• Solution: The layout needs to be carefully restructured. I will retype all texts, lines, and icons as clean vector elements in Adobe Illustrator. We will arrange the two columns of routes (Cannes and Riviera Escape) more vertically, one under the other, so they harmoniously fill the entire height of 200 cm. The text will remain perfectly clear and will not pixelate when printed.
Technical nuance (Important):
You mentioned that bleed is not required. This is true for cutting, but for the roll-up, it is critically important to allow for a safe zone at the bottom (about 10–15 cm), where there will only be the background color. This part of the banner is tucked into the metal drum of the structure, and if a QR code or website contacts are left there, they simply won’t be visible. I will definitely take this into account.
